The Nigeria Agribusiness Group (NABG) recently visited the Head Office of TGI Group in Lagos as part of its ongoing high-level advocacy efforts. TGI Group is an important member of the Executive Council of NABG, and this engagement aims to enhance cooperation in the private sector and foster inclusive agricultural transformation in Nigeria.
The visit, led by NABG President Arc Kabir Ibrahim, provided an opportunity to update TGI leadership on key NABG initiatives.
Highlights from the recent NABG Presidential Roundtable (PRT) were shared, alongside progress on policy advocacy and implementation efforts to boost agribusiness growth and food security in Nigeria.
As a token of appreciation, the NABG team presented commemorative items from the PRT to Mr Rahul Savara, Group Managing Director of TGI Group and Chair of the NABG Board of Trustees.
In a candid and constructive dialogue, Mr Savara, joined by his executive team, reaffirmed TGI’s commitment to agricultural development, citing the Group’s deep investments across multiple agricultural value chains and consumer brands in Nigeria.
He also issued a critical challenge: He called for NABG to deliver tangible, policy-driven outcomes that reinforce confidence in its mission and inspire sustained private-sector engagement.
“We are committed, but we also need to see results,” Mr Savara emphasised, highlighting the urgency of implementing policy that delivers real impact across the agribusiness landscape.
NABG President Arc Kabir Ibrahim responded by applauding the challenge and reaffirming his dedication to promoting audacious policy advocacy, execution, and cooperation that provide quantifiable outcomes.
“Our vision remains clear—a food-secure Nigeria powered by inclusive, private sector-led agribusiness transformation,” Arc Ibrahim affirmed.
This visit represents another significant turning point in NABG’s strategic engagement with important agribusiness stakeholders. The momentum created during the NABG Presidential Roundtable must be translated into tangible policy victories, increased investments, and systemic reform throughout Nigeria’s agriculture sector.
