Summary

As the Lead Advisor for SNV Impact Matters, you will drive the integration component of the project. You will lead the inclusive landscape approach across four Sahelian countries, bridging the gap between high-level geospatial data and community-driven watershed management.

Responsibilities

  • Implement ILM planning pilots in watersheds.
  • Build and lead a pipeline of investments with regional programs.
  • Own the vision and roadmap for the Soil Values Geoportal.
  • Facilitate discussions with women, youth, and pastoralists.
  • Manage a multi-country, multicultural team, translating policy.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Rural Development, Agriculture, Economy, Sociology, or a related field. (Advanced knowledge in GIS/Geoinformatics is a plus).
  • 12+ Years Total Experience: At least 10 years in spatial planning/watershed development and 10 years of leadership (5 in senior roles).
  • Sector Expertise: Deep knowledge of natural resource management (soil, water, forest), land conflicts, and dryland economies.
  • Fluency in English and French (written and spoken).
  • Technical: Strong understanding of geospatial products, data governance, and product management (3–5 years preferred).
  • An established senior network within West African governments and multilateral partners.
  • Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time, including to fragile or conflict-affected areas.
