KACRAN Commends NEDC for Project Inspections in North East
Atinuke Ajeniyi | 2nd March 2026

The Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN) has commended the North East Development Commission (NEDC) for its recent month-long inspection of developmental projects across the region.

The association expressed deep appreciation for the commission’s commitment to transparency and accountability. During the tour, high-profile officials, including the NEDC Governing Board Chairman and Managing Director, conducted thorough evaluations of strategic roads, healthcare centres, and educational facilities.

KACRAN noted that these inspections ensure that public funds are effectively directed toward high-quality outcomes rather than just contract awards.

Of particular importance to the association are the water and animal husbandry initiatives tailored for North East pastoralists.

KACRAN highlighted that these projects play a critical role in supporting the region’s livestock industry and expressed optimism that the NEDC will expand these efforts in the coming year.

The association further stated that the NEDC’s work aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, which focuses on livestock reform to enhance national food security.

By improving local production, the government reduces the foreign exchange spent on dairy and meat imports and transforms Nigeria into a net exporter of livestock products.

KACRAN described the NEDC as a model of integrity within the Nigerian public service.

The association concluded by urging the Federal Government to ensure the timely release of funds, enabling the commission to continue its impactful work in infrastructure, livestock development, and humanitarian aid across the North East.
