New Edo Agriculture Commissioner Vows to Boost Food Security, Strengthen Value Chain

The newly appointed Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security in Edo State, Dr Jerry Uwangue, has officially assumed office, promising to strengthen the state’s agricultural value chain and improve food security.

Upon his resumption, Dr. Uwangue met with the ministry’s Directors and staff to discuss the ministry’s vision, goals, and opportunities for progress.

He said, “I am confident that together we will strengthen the Edo State Agricultural value chain, enhance food security and empower our farmers. 

There is so much to be done, and with your dedication, we will make remarkable progress for the people of the state.”

Dr Uwangue pledged to promote collaborative leadership to advance the SHINE agenda of the present administration. 

He also commended Governor Senator Okpebholo for his transformative leadership and commitment to agricultural development in Edo State.

Earlier, the Functioning Permanent Secretary, Mr Sunday Osayande, congratulated the new Commissioner on his appointment and described it as well deserved. 

He conducted a guided tour of the ministry’s facilities for Dr Uwangue to better understand its operations and ongoing projects.
