The Nigeria Agricultural Intelligence Platform (NAIP), developed by Pixels Solutions Ltd in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, has launched a pioneering Artificial Intelligence-driven platform to transform the agricultural landscape, increase food security and empower farmers nationwide.

Speaking in Lagos, the Managing Director of Pixels Solutions Ltd, Mr Okey Udeogu, said the initiative represents a significant milestone in Nigeria’s journey towards technology-led agricultural transformation.

“NAIP is an inclusive technology that is going to make farming attractive,” he said.

“It will bridge the gap caused by the shortage of agricultural extension officers by providing farmers with timely guidance, research-backed insights, and new farming methods to improve their yields and profits.”

The Federal Government, through the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN), launched the platform as part of ongoing efforts to promote innovation, improve digital access, and translate agricultural research into tangible national development outcomes.

According to Udeogu, NAIP is an advisory and digital hub linking researchers, farmers, and markets to improve credit facility access, mechanisation schemes, and data-driven planning while providing digital market linkages that drive productivity and inclusivity.

“The technology we have developed is people-centred, technology-driven, and youth-powered”.

“ It will connect farmers, researchers, and policymakers for shared growth,” he added.

Through its AI-powered advisory system, the platform will provide farmers with critical information, including weather forecasts, market trends, and agronomic guidance.

It also supports non-smartphone users through USSD access, ensuring inclusion for rural communities.

Udeogu emphasised that NAIP would drive economic growth by boosting food production and creating employment opportunities for young Nigerians, particularly in rural areas.

“NAIP is a future-ready transformation agenda that gives farmers the power of information, enables researchers to collaborate, and unlocks opportunities for youth to lead the agricultural revolution,” he said.

He added that the initiative aligns with the Federal Government’s National Agricultural Technology and Innovation Policy (NATIP), which prioritises research, innovation, and youth empowerment as the pillars of agricultural transformation.

As agriculture continues to anchor Nigeria’s economy, the introduction of NAIP is expected to redefine the sector’s narrative by promoting evidence-based decision-making, enhancing productivity, and ensuring sustainability.

Udeogu described the platform as a real-time monitoring and data repository tool that provides actionable insights to both farmers and policymakers, improving planning and resource management.
