Summary

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), a member of CGIAR, is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the Consortium for Red Palm Weevil Control (C4RPWC). 

Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct lab and field experiments using RNAi and gene-editing technologies.
  • Develop transformation and gene-editing systems for palm crops.
  • Generate gene-edited plants resistant to pest infestations.
  • Apply molecular, genomic, and bioinformatic tools for monitoring effectiveness.

Requirements

  • PhD in Plant Biotechnology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or related field.
  • Strong background in gene editing and RNAi.
  • Proven skills in plant molecular biology, genetic transformation, and bioinformatics.
  • Train students, technicians, and partners in molecular entomology and biotechnology.
