Summary

The International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC) is seeking a new Board Member with strong ties to Africa and deep expertise in fertilizer, agricultural inputs, or soil health.

Role Specifications 

• Advising the Board on developments in African fertiliser markets, agribusiness, and policy frameworks
• Providing regional insights into donor priorities, market needs, and country-level dynamics
• Supporting governance, innovation, and impact measurement in African program delivery
• Serving on Board Committees such as the Programme & Impact or Governance & Risk Committee

Qualifications

• Candidate should be experienced in African agricultural systems, markets, or regulatory environments
• Candidate should have technical or commercial expertise in fertiliser markets, agro-inputs, soil fertility, or sustainable agriculture
• Candidate must be familiar with donor dynamics, blended finance, or environmental markets (desirable)

Terms of Appointment

• Remuneration: $7,200 per annum for Board service; Committee Chairs receive an additional $1,600 per annum
• Commitment: 4 Board + 4 Committee meetings annually, plus ad hoc engagement
• Tenure: Initial 3-year term, renewable
• Travel: Reasonable travel expenses reimbursed
