FirstBank to Host 2025 Agric, Export Conference to Boost Nigeria’s Non-Oil Sector

FirstBank has announced plans to hold its 2025 Agric and Export Conference to boost Nigeria’s non-oil sector and drive sustainable economic growth.

Themed “The Fundamentals of Building a Non-Oil Export Driven Economy”, the event will be held on Tuesday, 19 August, at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos.

 The conference will adopt a hybrid format, allowing most participants to join virtually while key stakeholders attend in person.

The gathering will feature exhibition booths from major organisations and associations within the agricultural and export sectors, offering attendees valuable networking and business opportunities.

Notable guest speakers include the Minister of Agriculture & Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, who will deliver the keynote address. 

Other panellists include the Managing Director of the Bank of Agriculture, Ayodeji Sotinrin; Managing Director/Chief Executive of the Nigerian Export-Import Bank, Abba Bello; Executive Secretary of the National Action Committee on the AfCFTA, Segun Awolowo; President of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria, Kabir Ibrahim; and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, Nonye Ayeni.

Speaking on the importance of the conference, FirstBank Group Managing Director, Olusegun Alebiosu, described it as a “strategic platform for stakeholders to converge, share knowledge, and drive strategies that can unlock the full potential of Nigeria’s agricultural sector and non-oil export industry.”

He added that the bank is committed to empowering customers and stakeholders with actionable insights, innovative solutions, and connections that will enhance their business prospects while contributing to the nation’s economic growth.
