Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) prepares to host the first edition of the ÀGBẸ́ LÓBÁ Festival, an event dedicated to showcasing agricultural research, cultural excellence, and enterprise within Nigeria’s farming space.
The event, which will take place at the university’s Iseyin Campus, is being organised in collaboration with LAUTECH and the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Oyo State on Project Delivery.
ÀGBẸ́ LÓBÁ, which translates to “Farmer is King”, will focus on the celebration of the role of agriculture in national development by highlighting student-led innovation, locally made products, and cultural heritage.
The festival will bring together key players from academia, government, and the agriculture sector, creating a platform to empower the next generation of agricultural leaders.
The organisers confirmed that students, alumni, and local innovators connected to LAUTECH will be at the forefront of the festival, showcasing research breakthroughs, farm-grown products, and indigenous knowledge systems that support rural livelihoods.
Notable guests expected to attend include the Executive Governor of Oyo State, state commissioners, traditional rulers, LAUTECH alumni, and community stakeholders from Iseyin.
The Aseyin of Iseyin will serve as the Royal Father of the Day, emphasising the deep cultural connection of the event to the host community.
Hertz Universe PR, a reputable agency specialising in managing major events and public relations campaigns, has been tasked with coordinating and delivering the festival’s creative aspects.
More details about the festival, including exhibition lineups and panel sessions, are expected to be released in the coming days.
