The Kaduna State House of Assembly has passed a bill to establish the Kaduna State College of Agricultural Technology and Environmental Sciences in Lere Local Government Area.

The bill, which was sponsored by Hon. Munira Suleiman Tanimu, Majority Leader of the Kaduna State House of Assembly and Member representing Lere East Constituency, marks a new chapter for the region.

The people of Lere celebrated the move with excitement and pride, calling it a historic moment that will benefit their community and the entire state.

“This college will undoubtedly empower future generations, create jobs, and enhance the quality of life in the community,” said Hon. Tanimu.

The college is expected to offer specialised education in agricultural technology and environmental sciences, opening new doors for young people in Kaduna State, especially those from farming families who may have limited access to formal training and agricultural innovation.

The decision to site the institution in Lere is also seen as a strategic move to support local farmers and promote rural development.
