10 Arrested Over Pig Farmer’s Murder in Anambra

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested ten suspects in connection with the abduction and murder of a pig farmer, Mr. Ozor Chido, in Nimo, Njikoka Local Government Area of the state.

Chido, who ran a piggery in the community, was reportedly kidnapped by masked men at his farm early on the morning of June 19, 2025. 

His body was later found on June 23, dumped close to the same farm where he had worked and lived.

In a statement issued on Sunday, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, spokesperson for the state police, confirmed the arrests. 

He said operatives from the Rapid Response Squad in Awkuzu picked up the suspects on Saturday, June 28, following detailed investigations.

“Police operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, on 28th June 2025, arrested 10 suspects in connection with the ongoing investigation into the recovered lifeless body of an alleged kidnap victim near a piggery farm in Nimo on June 23, 2025,” the statement read.

Ikenga also said the suspects are being interrogated, and the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, oversees the case and will give further directions. 

“Further developments will be communicated in due course,” he added.
