The European Union has established the EU-Nigeria Agribusiness Platform (EUNAP) as part of a larger plan to assist the Nigerian government in redefining agribusiness as a major engine of investment, inclusive growth, and food security.
The EU’s larger commitment to revolutionising Nigeria’s agricultural industry includes this effort.
During the platform’s formal debut in Abuja on Friday, Mr. Massimo De Luca, Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to Nigeria and ECOWAS, clarified that EUNAP was created to link important players in the agricultural sector.
Mr. Massimo De Luca described EUNAP as a multi-stakeholder digital platform, which is funded by the EU and implemented by Agribusiness Register Limited (ARL)
Launching this platform is not merely about technology or tools but about building bridges and making Nigerian agribusiness globally competitive, sustainable, and inclusive.
Mr. Roland Oroh, Chief Executive Officer of Agribusiness Register Limited, the platform’s implementing partner, described the initiative as a game-changer in Nigeria’s agribusiness sector.
“We are not only connecting actors across the agricultural landscape; we are creating a system that enables real-time collaboration, drives investment, and addresses real challenges.
According to Mr Roland Oroh, CEO of Agribusiness Register Ltd, the platform is expected to create an extra €575 million in trade value for Nigeria’s agribusiness industry.
EUNAP is a dynamic platform created to enhance trade and investment between Nigeria and the 28 EU member states, encourage partnerships, and advance sustainable agricultural practices.
The website is a virtual meeting place for Nigerian farmers, EU partners, investors, and consumers. It promotes trade agreements, export prospects, and strategic partnerships through sophisticated matchmaking technologies and real-time interaction.
