Summary

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is seeking a Nematology Soil Health Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to research on soil health and nematode management.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and planning of laboratory, greenhouse, screen house, and field experiments.
  • Develop and refine methodologies for soil health and nematode assessment.
  • Provide scientific and analytical input into research activities and experimental protocols.
  • Participate in the implementation of laboratory and field studies.
  • Ensure compliance with established scientific protocols and data quality standards.
  • Support data collection and validation across research sites.
  • Conduct statistical analysis and interpretation of nematode and soil health data.
  • Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Develop technical reports, datasets, and other scientific outputs from research activities.
  • Collaborate with research partners and multidisciplinary teams on project implementation.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Nematology, Soil Health, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in field and screen house experimentation.
  • Experience in data collection, consolidation, management, and analysis.
  • Experience in scientific report writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage research activities and work within multidisciplinary projects will be an advantage.
