The Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) has issued a stern public advisory warning job seekers participating in its ongoing recruitment exercise against engaging with unofficial social media groups or individuals soliciting payments on behalf of the agency. 

In a statement released on Monday, August 3, 2026, the agency reaffirmed that its entire recruitment process is completely free of charge.

Signed by the Director of Human Resources, Assistant Comptroller-General Issaka Ahmed, on behalf of the Board Chairman, the advisory noted the proliferation of fake WhatsApp, Telegram, and Facebook groups falsely claiming to represent the service or provide hiring updates. 

The agency cautioned applicants against joining these online platforms or disclosing personal details to unauthorised persons. 

The warning responds to a growing wave of employment scams across the country where syndicate networks attempt to extort money from prospective job seekers by falsely promising guaranteed placements in federal government agencies.

NAQS stressed that no third-party entity, consultant, or individual has been authorised to collect fees or process applications on its behalf at any stage. 

The service urged all candidates to rely solely on designated official NAQS communication channels for verified instructions, screening schedules, and updates. 

Reaffirming its commitment to a transparent and merit-based selection process, NAQS warned that anyone caught impersonating the agency or attempting to defraud job seekers will be investigated and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
