The National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) and the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to improve agricultural data generation, validation, and analysis across Nigeria. 

Executed at NADF headquarters in Abuja, the strategic partnership aims to establish credible statistical frameworks to guide agricultural financing, policy formulation, and food security initiatives.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of NADF, Mohammed A. Ibrahim, described reliable statistical data as the primary enabler of effective agricultural development and impact assessment. 

Ibrahim noted that as NADF expands its support across farm value chains, donor coordination, and sub-national interventions, working alongside the NBS will ensure that every capital disbursement and policy initiative responds directly to verifiable field evidence.

The Statistician-General of the Federation and Chief Executive Officer of the NBS, Prince Adeyemi Adeniran, stated that the agreement creates a standardised protocol for data exchange, harmonisation, and governance. 

Adeniran affirmed that the framework will provide investors, researchers, and government agencies with reliable agricultural statistics while maintaining strict data confidentiality and governance standards. 

Both institutions expressed confidence that the partnership will deliver lasting benefits for smallholders, agribusinesses, and national food security.
