The Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami Gomo III, has commended the Kebbi State Government’s free distribution of farming inputs, describing it as the most impactful agricultural intervention for local farmers in recent years.

Speaking at his palace in Zuru during a visit by the Kebbi State Governor’s Media Team, the monarch voiced strong support for the program while urging the administration of Governor Nasir Idris to establish transparent distribution channels to prevent input diversion.

The traditional ruler noted that the free input distribution will stimulate economic activity beyond primary cultivation, extending benefits throughout the entire agricultural value chain. According to the Emir, higher crop yields will create commercial opportunities for agricultural marketers, logistics providers, agro-processing firms, and end consumers across the state.

The Emir advised the state government to constitute an oversight committee made up of individuals with proven integrity to deliver farm supplies directly to genuine smallholders.

The monarch also expressed appreciation to the state government for providing modern operational vehicles to the Zuru Emirate Council and its five constituent chiefdoms, praising the gesture as a meaningful commitment toward strengthening traditional governance institutions.

Leading the visiting delegation, the Kebbi State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK, stated that the assessment tour aims to evaluate government performance, gather royal guidance, and refine policies to drive sustainable socio-economic development across Kebbi State.
