Summary

The African Food Research Accelerator Programme (AFRAP) is a six-month fellowship by the Centre for African Food Research and Innovation (CAFRI) designed to equip early-career food scientists with practical research skills. 

The programme is open to applicants from across Africa and focuses on building capacity in food science, nutrition, food safety, and food systems research.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be citizens or residents of an African country
  • Be a final-year undergraduate student, master’s student, or early-career professional in a food-related discipline
  • Demonstrate an interest in food science, nutrition, food safety, or food systems research
  • Commit 4–6 hours per week throughout the six-month programme
  • Have access to a laptop or desktop computer and reliable internet connectivity
