Summary

The AfCFTA Africa Umoja Campaign invites young Africans to contribute ideas that can shape the future of sustainable trade across the continent.

Participants are encouraged to propose innovative, policy-relevant solutions on how the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) can promote sustainable growth, low-carbon manufacturing, and environmentally responsible logistics across Africa.

Requirements

Participants must submit two components:

1. Essay Submission

• A 2,000-word blog-style essay
• Focused on sustainable trade within the AfCFTA framework
• Must present clear policy ideas and recommendations
• File format: .docx

2. Video Pitch

• 1-minute (60 seconds) unedited video
• Must summarise the essay’s key idea and policy recommendation
• Upload to a publicly accessible platform (e.g., YouTube private link)
• Submit the link in the application form

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

• Be African passport holders
• Be between 18 and 35 years old
