The Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) has opened its 28th Call for Proposals, inviting applications for scalable and financially sustainable projects that improve smallholder farmer livelihoods, strengthen resilient ecosystems, and promote inclusive commodity value chains across developing countries.

This opportunity is ideal for organisations operating at the intersection of agriculture, sustainability, finance, and inclusive growth.

Focus Areas

Proposed projects should align with one or more of the following areas:

  • Trade finance solutions connecting smallholder farmers to international markets
  • Regenerative agriculture and biodiversity protection
  • Low-impact local value addition
  • Agtech and digital tools are improving transparency, efficiency, and inclusivity
  • Financial inclusion for smallholder farmers
  • Women-led enterprises and gender-responsive business models

Eligibility Criteria

Applicant must; 

  • Be an SME, cooperative, social enterprise, NGO, or public/private sector organisation
  • Operate in one of the 101 eligible countries where CFC has a presence
  • Have a minimum of three (3) years of operational experience
  • Propose income-generating projects with measurable positive impact on smallholder farmers and local economies
