The Federal Ministry of Livestock Development has been recognised for its successful digital transition, receiving the Go-Live Excellence Award at the Paperless Civil Service Gala and Awards Night on 17th December 2025.

The accolade highlights the Ministry’s commitment to innovation, efficiency, and citizen-centred service delivery.

The gala, organised by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), brought together Permanent Secretaries, Ministers, development partners, and senior government officials.

Senator George Akume, CON, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), described the initiative as “a fundamental shift in culture, mindset, and service delivery,” emphasising that digital governance enhances transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency.

Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, traced the evolution of digitalisation reforms since 2017, noting the decisive push during the COVID-19 pandemic that made electronic content management mandatory across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

She praised staff for embracing change, unlearning old habits, and ensuring the initiative’s success.

The award also recognised the efforts of the Digitalisation Committee, the Galaxy Backbone platform team, and technical partners whose expertise enabled the Ministry to achieve a fully paperless workflow.

Dr Chinyere Ijeoma Akujobi, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, stated that the award affirms the Ministry’s commitment to innovation and teamwork.

The paperless workflow streamlines livestock development services, improving efficiency in key agricultural operations while reinforcing accountability.
