Summary

IITA is seeking a skilled Research Data Management Officer to support agricultural research projects in Ibadan. The role involves managing the full data lifecycle, from collection and cleaning to curation, storage, analysis, and reporting, while ensuring compliance with institutional and donor standards. 

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data collection tools to ensure accurate, clean, and validated datasets.
• Develop and maintain secure databases and repositories, following FAIR principles.
• Assist in data analysis, visualisations, and reporting to inform project decisions.
• Build capacity in data management, provide technical support, and promote best practices.
• Facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing within project networks and institutional repositories.
  

Requirements

• HND/BSc in Computer Science, IT, Statistics, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in data management, preferably in agricultural research or development projects.
• Strong knowledge of data management systems (ODK, KoboToolbox), data cleaning (R, Python, SPSS), and visualisation tools (Excel, Power BI, Stata).
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and capacity-building skills.
