Since the launch of the Grain from Ukraine program in 2022, more than 290,000 tons of agricultural products have been delivered to countries grappling with hunger and severe food shortages.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the initiative has provided critical supplies, including grain, oil, and flour, to 13 countries across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, reaching over 20 million people.
The humanitarian shipments have benefited nations such as the Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritania, Mozambique, Nigeria, Palestine, Syria, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen.
Launched at the initiative of President Volodymyr Zelensky in partnership with the UN World Food Programme, the scheme highlights Ukraine’s commitment to tackling global hunger despite its ongoing challenges at home.
“Grain from Ukraine is a humanitarian food program that supports the peoples of Africa and Asia by supplying Ukrainian agricultural products to those facing hunger,” the ministry stated.
