The newly restructured Ogun State Food Crops Marketing Board (OSFCMB), under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, has announced plans to make a wide variety of hygienically packaged food items available to residents at discounted prices.

The Chairman of the Board, Barr. Ibilola Subair made this disclosure during a courtesy visit to the Chief of Staff at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

According to her, the Board is directly sourcing raw farm produce, processing it under hygienic conditions, and packaging it for public consumption.

She emphasised that the initiative is a deliberate step toward strengthening food security and ensuring affordable nutrition for households in Ogun State.

Barr. Subair also commended Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun for his visionary and proactive leadership in managing the state’s affairs, noting that his creativity has significantly enhanced innovation in the agricultural value chain.

In his response, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr. Oluwatoyin Taiwo, applauded Barr. Subair and her team for their ingenuity and dedication to providing quality food products.

He highlighted that the packaged foods, produced in different sizes, are designed to benefit both low- and high-income earners.

Dr. Taiwo further showcased the products and encouraged residents to seize the opportunity to purchase them at affordable rates.

Some of the packaged food products introduced by the Board include Ofada rice, rice flour, plantain flour, yam flour, and Garri Dapo.

Residents can access these products and get more information through the Board’s official social media handles.
