Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has assured residents that the mid-level Agro Food Hub currently under construction in Sangotedo, Eti-Osa Local Government Area, will be completed and inaugurated by 2026.

The project, which sits on 23,000 square metres of land, is already more than 90 per cent complete, with finishing works ongoing. Once operational, the facility will provide storage facilities, trading floors, and parking spaces, all designed to improve access to fresh food for residents within the corridor.

“This hub is part of our broader plan to decentralise food distribution across Lagos,” Governor Sanwo-Olu stated.

“By this time next year, I expect these hubs will already be improving food access for our residents,” he said.

The Sangotedo hub is part of a wider food distribution network planned by the state government. According to Sanwo-Olu, similar hubs are under construction in Agege, Lagos Island, Oregun, and Ikorodu, with additional ones planned for Epe and Badagry.

All these facilities will be connected to the main logistics hub in Ketu-Ereyun, which has been described as the backbone of Lagos’ food distribution system.

The governor stressed that these investments form a critical part of the state’s food security agenda, aligning with both the Lagos Agricultural Roadmap and the Produce for Lagos initiative.
