Ondo State’ Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has expressed strong interest in a partnership with his Bauchi’s counterpart, Senator Bala Muhammad, aimed at boosting investments in agriculture and manufacturing.
The two leaders met recently in Akure, where Aiyedatiwa hosted Muhammad, spearheading efforts to establish fertiliser and petrochemical production plants in Ondo State over the next year.
During the meeting, Governor Aiyedatiwa commended Governor Muhammad for his leadership in this investment initiative, saying, “Ondo State is open and willing to partner with investors to boost the state’s economy and provide jobs for the youth.”
The governor emphasised the advantages of setting up a fertiliser petrochemical company in the region.
He pointed out that the area has ample space and is designated as a free trade zone, stating, “So all of these will be of benefit to investors and also to us as a people.”
Aiyedatiwa expressed his appreciation for Governor Muhammad’s choice to invest in Ondo State, noting that while other states offer similar opportunities, Ondo was selected as the focus for this project.
In response, Muhammad praised Aayatsua for his proactive steps in making Ondo State a top investment choice.
He mentioned, “We have carried out due diligence, and they approached me that they have some proposal that they want to do in Ondo. They want to establish a fertiliser plant here and they have made their feasibility studies as Nigerians.”
Governor Muhammad also expressed confidence that bringing this investment to Ondo State would be a great honor and assured that it would come without any strings attached.
This collaboration has the potential to improve agricultural productivity in Ondo State significantly, providing crucial resources for local farmers and creating new job opportunities in the area.
