Nestlé has partnered with the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development to launch a new technical training programme to improve milk quality and boost productivity among Nigeria’s dairy farmers.
The collaboration, marked by a Letter of Intent (LOI) signed on World Milk Day 2025, will focus on building technical and vocational skills across local dairy clusters.
The goal is to equip farmers and dairy workers with the knowledge and tools to enhance milk production, ensure food security, and support better nutrition across communities.
The training programme will cover areas like milk hygiene, handling, processing, and farm management.
With Nestlé’s experience in global dairy practices and the government’s renewed push for livestock development, the initiative is expected to help close the technical skills gap in Nigeria’s dairy industry and create long-term livelihood opportunities.
Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Mukhtar Maiha, confirmed that a new Dairy Training Centre will be established in Paikon Kore, Gwagwalada, to support this initiative and prepare farmers for a more modern and sustainable dairy sector.
