The Chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), South East Chapter, Lady Ada Chukwudozie, has announced plans to engage Nigerian youths in skill acquisition and modern farming techniques aimed at economic empowerment and national development.
She made this known shortly after receiving an honorary Doctor of Business Administration degree from Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam, during the institution’s convocation and 25th anniversary ceremony.
Speaking with journalists, Lady Chukwudozie, who also serves as the Chairman of Keystone Bank, pledged to establish a legacy project at the university.
She explained that the initiative will focus on income-generating ventures such as animal husbandry and mechanised agriculture, particularly for indigent students.
“I promise the university that I am going to leave a legacy project behind. This legacy project is one I have been nursing in my heart.
“Partnerships for sustainable development and production are needed because the economy is very down, and inflation is so high. To fight inflation, there should be production. It is going to be anchored on income-generating projects to empower indigent students through animal husbandry, mechanised agriculture and so on.
”We are looking forward to empowering our youths to embrace agriculture. We want to make agriculture very attractive by using modern methods of farming”.
Earlier, the university commended Chukwudozie for her outstanding contributions to education, innovation, and the advancement of society, noting that the honorary award reflects her enduring commitment to human development.
