Vice President Kashim Shettima has stated that Taraba State possesses significant untapped agricultural potential, positioning it as an agricultural powerhouse during his address at the Taraba State International Investment Summit (TARAVEST) 2025 in Jalingo on Thursday.
Speaking to attendees, Shettima highlighted that the state boasts significant untapped agricultural potential for investors, moving beyond traditional farming methods.
The mining sector also requires modernisation. Taraba’s extensive resources cannot be adequately quantified..
He also remarked that the Federal Government, led by President Bola Tinubu, encouraged local investment to create wealth.
However, the vice president stressed that cooperation and teamwork are necessary to bring the wealth of plentiful natural resources into prosperity.
He pointed out that despite the expanding population, Nigeria would remain viable if these resources were turned into riches.
Shettima commented that everyone was concerned about Nigeria’s expanding population and that inadequate economic planning would negatively impact the country’s future survival.
Taraba’s governor, Agbu Kefas, had already declared that the state was secure for investment but that security and stability could not be assured.
