OCP announced in 2023 that it will spend $12 billion by 2027 to use renewable energy to power its industrial units. By 2040, it also hopes to be carbon neutral.
Moroccan phosphate and fertiliser manufacturer OCP’s Ahmed Mahrou, a managing director, announced on Wednesday that it intends to use renewable energy to generate 3 million metric tonnes of fertilisers by 2027 to lessen its carbon footprint.
The state-owned company produced 14 million tonnes of fertilisers based on phosphate last year.
