The Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute (ARMTI) has opened its South West Regional Training Centre and Liaison Office in Ibadan in collaboration with the Oyo State and Federal Governments.
Speaking at the commissioning event in Ibadan, the commissioner for agriculture and rural development for Oyo State, Olasunkanmi Olaleye, underlined the state’s dedication to increasing agricultural output through strategic collaborations.
Based on his statement, the opening of the ARMTI centre was in line with continuous initiatives to guarantee food security throughout the state.
Olaleye explained that the governor, Seyi Makinde, has led the state administration in agriculture development through capacity-building initiatives.
He noted that the Ministry of Agriculture has trained over 3,000 farmers in modern agricultural practices, significantly boosting productivity and sustainability in the sector.
He also reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting farmers and ensuring the agricultural sector thrives to an enviable height.
While expressing gratitude to the Federal Government and other stakeholders for selecting Oyo State as the regional headquarters for the South West ARMTI program, the commissioner described the centre as a vital hub for agricultural training and support services for farmers in the region.
The Executive Director/CEO of ARMTI, Olufemi Oladunni, praised Governor Makinde in his remarks for his swift approval and support of the regional office.
Oladunni explained that the ARMTI, an organisation under the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, educates farmers nationwide in various contemporary agricultural techniques to empower them and increase agricultural productivity.
