Atinuke | 23rd April 2025

The Association of Organic Agriculture Practitioners of Nigeria (NOAN) will bring together interested parties at the organic expo and annual general meeting in Lagos to raise awareness of organic farming in Nigeria.

The event, with the theme “Innovative Organic Food System for National Development,” will allow farmers and industry professionals to network with various value chain participants, including legislators, researchers, farmers, processors, and entrepreneurs.

“People will have the chance to visit the exhibition stands to buy natural produce. We expect different guests from Lagos State officials and other bodies,” said Aderioke Oluwagbenro, association secretary.

Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture Abisola Olusanya will chair the event, which will be held in Ikeja, Lagos, from April 28th to 30th.

Also, there would be panel discussions with seasoned organic and health experts to discuss extensively on innovation and best organic practices, agricultural and environmental law, and agricultural business advocacy.

In addition, the event will witness the remarkable launch of organic labels under the association’s standard and certification committee.

“We expect that participants will use the conference to join the association and enhance their visibility for business and other laudable potential in Nigeria’s organic and agroecology movement,” Oluwagbenro added.

The Association of Organic Agriculture Practitioners of Nigeria aims to coordinate and facilitate the growth of sustainable organic agriculture-related activities in Nigeria.

Additionally, the association wants to raise awareness of organic farming in Nigeria. Materials and refreshments will cover a portion of the registration fee, and interested attendees can register on-site.
