In 2024, Togo produced 38.6 million heads of poultry. The Ministry of Economy released the statistics, citing the Ministry of Livestock. The output aligns with the 38 million the administration had predicted for the time frame.

Togo produced 35.7 million heads in 2023, an 8% increase from the previous year.

The Plateaux produced 13 million heads, or about 34% of the total, last year, making it the top-producing region. This area generated more than 12 million heads the previous year.

The Savanes came next, with 8 million heads, just like in 2023 and 2022. In 2024, the three other regions the Maritime, Kara, and Central areas—delivered 4.8 million, 5 million, and 6 million, respectively.

Authorities anticipate that production will surpass 41 million heads this year. In addition to achieving statistical goals, officials want to build a strong chicken sector value chain.
