The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture is looking for qualified Nigerians for the opening of a Research Supervisor in Kano state.
1. Identify promising elite cowpea varieties and install and scale up cowpea seed systems in Nigeria.
2. Provide technical support for EGS production and make it easier for seed businesses and CBOs to produce certified seeds.
3. Maintain seed quality and ensure that seeds sent to clients/beneficiaries are of high quality.
4. Collaborate with relevant NARS public and private extension agents to develop on-farm demonstration plots and multi-locational trials of new varieties in order to generate demand and data for the candidate varieties’ release.
5. Support a multistakeholder platform promoting the cowpea value chain in Benue, Niger, and Bauchi states. Etc
1. BSc/HND in Agriculture, Agronomy, Plant Science, Botany, or a related discipline.
2. Minimum of years of experience in seed systems and field agronomy in a well-structured setting.
