Head of Procurement

Job Summary

Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc. is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Procurement to oversee their procurement function.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and execute procurement strategies that are in line with our business goals, minimise expenses, and increase efficiency.

2. Lead and manage a team of procurement experts, offering direction, mentoring, and development opportunities to ensure they are prepared to meet our procurement goals.

3. Manage the acquisition of goods, services, and works, ensuring that all actions comply with our procurement policies and processes.

4. Build and maintain connections with important suppliers to ensure we get high-quality goods and services at affordable costs.

5. Negotiate, monitor, and administer supplier contracts, ensuring they meet regulatory standards and our business objectives. Etc

Requirements 

1. B.Sc in procurement, supply chain management, business administration, or a similar subject. Professional credentials like CIPS, ISM, and APICS are desirable.

2. Minimum of 15 years in procurement, including at least 8 years in a leadership role. Experience with international procurement is necessary.

Sustainability Specialist

Job Summary

The organisation is looking to hire a motivated and skilled decarbonisation specialist who is passionate about influencing change and working with multinational enterprises in Ibese. This role will report to the Ibese Plant Director and Group Head of Sustainability and provide expertise in emissions measurement, data-driven GHG reduction strategies, and climate action while advising on relevant standards and methodologies.

Responsibilities

1. Support the Ibese decarbonisation roadmap, which includes identifying and testing technologies and methods to reduce carbon emissions in the Ibese plant’s cement value chain.

2. Align and build data and technical teams for decarbonisation, including transport and supply chain, to deliver on decarbonisation initiatives in a timely manner.

3. Form trusted, long-term collaborations with industry groups and technology providers to capitalise on prospects for green financing, carbon offsets, carbon credits, and so on.

4. Ensure that local, national, and international environmental rules, emissions reduction requirements, and climate policies are followed.

Provide climate action and decarbonisation reports, as well as responses to requests and audits. 

Requirements

1. Bachelor in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, or a similar subject. An advanced degree in a relevant field (engineering, climate science, or sustainability) will be preferred.

2. Minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing, environmental sustainability, or a similar industry and 2+ years of expertise in GHG accounting.
